Awards & Scholarships Committee Timelines


June
  • Attend FACC Annual Board Orientation Luncheon meeting held at the end of the annual Summer Conference and Academy for incoming board members and committee chairs.
  • Prepare and submit a Friday Email article, if needed.

July
  • Notify committee members of appointment.
  • Organization meeting of committee to review goals and establish timeline.
  • Review application forms and criteria for any needed changes.
  • Prepare recommended changes to Board for approval.
  • Prepare and submit FACC Board agenda item, if needed.

August

  • Make approved changes to forms and criteria.
  • Initiate changes to forms as published on FACC website.
  • Application forms for scholarships and award to staff for publication in the Friday Emails (must be advertised 60 days prior to application submission deadline of January 30 for scholarships and March 31 for Robert N. Clark Memorial Award and FACC Clerk of the Year Award).

September
  • Prepare and submit FACC Board agenda item for October Board meeting.
  • Create article for Friday Emails regarding availability of scholarships, Robert N. Clark Memorial Award and FACC Clerk of the Year Award.

October
  • Attend FACC Board meeting.

January
  • Prepare and submit FACC Board agenda item for January Board meeting.
  • Summer Conference and Academy, Fall Academy, and IIMC Conference applications due January 30.
  • Review scholarship applications and determine if they meet criteria.
  • Chair prepares report of recommended scholarship recipients and funding levels for the Board.

February
  • Notify committee members of Board’s action regarding scholarship and award recommendations.
  • Notify all scholarship applicants of the FACC Board decisions of award and non-award.

March
  • Prepare and submit a Friday Email article, if needed.
  • Robert N. Clark Award and FACC Clerk of the Year nomination packets due March 31.
  • Prepare and submit FACC Board agenda item for April Board meeting.

April
  • Attend FACC Board meeting.
  • Review Robert N. Clark Award nomination packets and determine if they meet criteria. Prepare report of Robert N. Clark Memorial Award selection to Executive Director (Remember this Award recommendation is confidential!).
  • Clerk of the Year Award nomination packets sent to FIOG selection panel. Prepare report of Clerk of the Year Award selection to Executive Director (Remember this Award recommendation is confidential!).
  • Submit list of active committee members to FACC President.
  • Prepare and submit By-Laws/Manual Revisions recommendations to By-Laws/Manual Revisions Committee Chair.

May
  • Prepare and submit FACC Board agenda item for June meeting.

June
  • Provide copies of the Robert N. Clark Memorial and Clerk of the Year recipient’s nomination packets to the FACC president and executive director. (President makes the presentation of awards.)
  • Summer Conference and Academy, Fall Academy and IIMC Scholarship recipients are recognized during the annual business luncheon.
  • Attend FACC Final Board meeting.

Miscellaneous/Recommendations
  • While an e-mail meeting is possible, it is recommended that in person or conference call meetings take place to discuss submitted applications and nominations. 
  • It is recommended that at least one incumbent committee member serve on this committee.
  • Hold a wrap-up meeting to evaluate the accomplishments, disappointments and recommendations for changes, if any.
