Florida Association of City Clerks

Promoting and Developing the Educational and Professional Status of Florida City Clerks

Resolutions Committee Responsibilities

Prepare resolutions as requested by the Board. Most resolutions are prepared as needed during the year. Obtain information from the president if there were any additional resolutions to be prepared prior to the Summer Conference and Academy. Resolutions can:
  • establish FACC policy;
  • support legislative issues;
  • provide direction and recognition to FACC members;
  • recognize retiring clerks; and
  • offer congratulations for outstanding achievements.

Members
The Resolutions Committee members are appointed by the president from the general membership. It is recommended that this committee consist of approximately five members.

Sub-Committees
This committee coordinates with the Summer Conference and Academy Committee to see if there was someone they wanted to recognize with a resolution. Sometimes there is a special person, organization or facility that has gone above and beyond and only the Summer Conference and Academy Committee would know that.

Meeting Frequency
As needed; communication done entirely via e-mail and/or phone.

Expenses
In-kind time, travel and correspondence of chair and members should be incorporated into the respective city budgets.
