Refunds: cancellations must be in writing and emailed to mmontgomery@flcities.com. Substitutions may be made at any time with advance notice. All cancellations received by Monday, September 22, 2025, will be entitled to a refund minus a $50 administrative fee.

The room rate is $174 per night plus tax. The hotel offers a discounted self-parking rate of $6 for overnight guests. There is no charge for daily parking.
Note, after you register for the event, the hotel reservation link will be emailed to you in your confirmation email.

The ITA deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025.
No credit hours will be issued without these forms completed and emailed to facc@iog.fsu.edu by 5:00 p.m. on October 27, 2025. Please do not send your ITA forms to the FACC office.

Pre-Academy Workshops: Athenian Dialogues
Two different Athenian Dialogues will be offered on Sunday, October 5th:
The Cure for Stupidity: Using Brain Science to Explain Irrational Behavior at Work by Eric M. Bailey
and The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace by Gary Chapman and Paul White.
Choose one dialogue to attend. These Athenian Dialogues have been pre-approved for three IIMC CMC or MMC education points with the satisfactory, timely completion of a learning assessment.
Registration is $100, plus you purchase the book on your own.
Athenian Dialogues are conversations between the participants in a small class. These dialogues offer the opportunity to share experiences, professional and personal, as they relate to the author or the characters in the book. Athenian Dialogues explore leadership qualities in yourself. Take notes as you read the book, and bring your favorite quote from the book. Athenian Leadership Society Dialogues are for a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 30 participants per session on a first-come, first-served basis.
All participants must have completed the book in its entirety as a prerequisite.
Clerks' Night Out
This event is sold out.
- Date: Tuesday, October 7, 2025
- Time: Meet in the hotel lobby at 6:00 p.m. to board the bus.
- Cost: $35 per person (non-refundable; however, substitutions are allowed)
What to Expect:
- Guided tour, which includes walking in some dimly lit locations.
- After the tour, join us for dinner and drinks to relax and enjoy good company (pay on your own).

Buddy Program
Is this your first time attending an FACC Fall Academy?
If so, sign up for an event buddy by contacting FACC Mentoring Committee Chair Vanessa Castillo, MMC (City Clerk, City of Winter Haven) at vcastillo@mywinterhaven.com. An event buddy will be assigned to you to help you navigate the Academy and answer any questions you may have.
If you have attended past events and would like to serve as a buddy to a new attendee, please contact Vanessa.
Donations Needed for Welcome Bags & Door Prizes
The FACC 2025 Fall Academy Host Committee is asking for your help!
Donations are needed for welcome bags and door prizes.
Welcome Bag Donations: Suggested items include: snacks, candy, city-related PR items, pens, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, small tissue packs, items of interest from your area, etc. We need to fill approximately 225 bags. Please bring your welcome bag donations to the FACC registration desk at the event by Sunday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m.; the welcome bags will be stuffed on this day. Items can also be mailed or delivered to Committee Chair Lina M. Zapata, MPA (Deputy City Clerk, City of Sunrise) at 10770 W Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise, FL 33351.
Door Prize Donations: If you are willing to donate a gift basket, prize, gift card, etc. for the giveaways at the Academy, please bring your donation to the FACC registration desk at the event by Tuesday, October 7th.

Light Continental Breakfasts
A light continental breakfast is provided for the Athenian Dialogue attendees on the morning of Sunday, October 5.
A light continental breakfast will be provided for Fall Academy attendees on the mornings of Monday, October 6, through Thursday, October 9.
Pink to the Extreme Contest
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, FACC encourages attendees to wear pink on Tuesday, October 7.
Dress in the most extreme amount of pink clothes and accessories you have and participate in the Pink to the Extreme Contest.
You could win a $50 discount to a future FACC event!
This prize can be applied to the 2026 Summer Conference and Academy, a live webinar of your choice from November 2025 through June 2026, or a pre-recorded webinar. This prize must be used before the end of June 2026.
