Legislative Committee ResponsibilitiesThe Legislative Committee is responsible for monitoring the Florida Legislature and informing the Board of Directors and FACC membership of pending legislation. The committee may initiate and introduce legislation to the State Legislature, with the approval of the FACC Board of Directors. The Legislative Committee, with the approval of the FACC Board of Directors, can establish a network to assist in promoting, sponsoring and/or refuting proposed legislation pending and/or to be presented to the State Legislature. The Legislative Committee members are appointed by the President from the general membership. Sub-Committees None. Meeting Frequency As needed and determined by pending legislation that the Committee believes affects, or has the potential to affect, the city clerk profession. Expenses Expenses would be those costs associated with presentation of legislation to the Legislature, or costs associated with opposing legislation and would be contingent upon the approval of the FACC Board of Directors. In-kind time, travel and correspondence of chair and members should be incorporated into the respective city budgets.
