FACC Committees
Committees are appointed annually by the FACC President and serve for one year, unless otherwise stipulated in the By-Laws. Each committee has its own set of duties and responsibilities, which are coordinated by the Committee Chairs listed below.

The purpose of the FACC Silent Auction is to raise money for the organization and a charity designated annually by the sitting Board of Directors. Funds raised will be dispersed as follows:
• 50% of the proceeds or $100, whichever is greater, will be donated to a charity designated annually by the sitting Board of Directors
• 25% of the remaining proceeds are placed into the Florida Education Fund (FEF) account and used as deemed necessary
• 25% of the remaining proceeds are placed into the FACC general account and used as deemed necessary
The purpose of the 50/50 drawing is to raise money for the organization. Funds raised are placed into the FACC general account and used as deemed necessary.
The Auction and 50-50 Drawing Committee handles all details of the auctions and drawings, including, but not limited to, solicitation of auction items, selling of 50-50 tickets, set-up of auctions, staffing of auctions and coordination of all activities with FACC staff.
The Committee should refer to the FACC policies for exact instructions on management of FACC silent auctions and 50/50 drawings.

It shall be the duty of this committee to outline and update the criteria, application and nomination forms for the issuance of scholarships and awards to member clerks for attendance at the Summer Conference and Academy, Fall Academy and the Annual IIMC Conferences. This committee shall review all applications and make recommendations to the Board for final approval at its February or March board meeting as to who shall receive said scholarships.

This committee is responsible for reviewing the FACC By-Laws and making recommendations for changes at the annual Summer Conference and Academy, reviewing and updating the policies, goals, Board of Directors’ and committees’ duties and responsibilities, as well as the new member informational video (2023 Class Three Project) and the Florida City Clerks Manual (an excellent benefit for FACC members). The committee will include an annual review of the FACC Strategic Plan in its yearly board report and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the plan every five years, beginning in 2030 and recurring every five years thereafter.

The Fall Academy Host Committee acts as the local host during the annual Fall Academy under the direction and approval of the Board of Directors.
The committee works closely with the FACC staff. Members of the committee are appointed by the president, serve a one-year term, and usually represent the general area in which the Fall Academy is held.
The committee should begin planning and making arrangements as soon as possible following appointment of the committee members and the chair. Many aspects of the Fall Academy, such as contracts and reservations for the various functions are coordinated by the FACC staff and must receive the Board’s approval.

The Mentoring Committee provides framework to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and methods between clerks’ offices to provide assistance and support in the performance of their duties. The Mentoring Committee also pairs clerks with mentor clerks with the best possible match, but not necessarily according to size of city, range of duties and proximity; maintain a list of participants; develop and prepare all associated forms, application information and procedures; and conduct on-going evaluation and assessment of the mentoring relationship. The Committee conducts the Buddy Program at the Summer Conference & Academy and at the Fall Academy.
